This project introduced students to Adobe InDesign as they introduced themselves to the other students in the class. This project required students to demonstrate proficiency in creating new documents, using guides, frames, frame content such as text and illustrations, and strokes. I created the project to the left using the Pen Tool.

Project: Designing With Spot Colors

This project required students to transform objects and use repetition and effects in design. Understanding colors and swatches was important for this assignment. Lastly, color separations show how much of each color is used individually if printed. Go ahead and click on each of the color separation images to the left to see them larger.

Project: Creating Vector Art

This project utilizes vector shapes. Fortunately I have a little experience with the Pen Tool in Adobe Illustrator so it wasn't too difficult to make some lines and shapes with the Pen Tool in InDesign. It was challenging for me to leave paths open, as I'm a big fan of clean design and ensuring all shapes are closed.

Project: Styles for Efficiency
Zipped Project File This project requires the use of object, paragraph, and character styles in InDesign. Placeholder text and threaded text frames were used to increase design efficiency. One of my favorite things about InDesign is how it handles frames and threaded text boxes.

This project required a multo-page document with imported Microsoft Word documents, threaded text frames, vector artwork, text wrapping, parent pages, and paragraph styles. It was a complex project bringing many of the techniques and tools used in previous projects together. Due to this document having multiple pages, a link is provided above to be able to view it on another webpage instead of to the left like the previous projects.

Interactivity was tested thoroughly and changes made throughout the design process for a simple and clean experience for the end-user.
